The people immediately went into action and did their best to help not just my dog but help calm me down. They give updates frequently and made sure to explain things to me and willing to explain to me multiple times while in a emotional state

efinitive answer. That would send her home comfortable. I was never told it could simply be a Iparasite. After they had her, and I agreed to the $900, they called me back with additional cost. I was told they needed to run an additional test. When I get there, I’m told their machine registered platelet count of zero. Why did I have to pay more money because their machine was defective! And now we have the diagnosis, her symptoms align perfectly with it so again, a parasite test should’ve been the first order of business. They took advantage of us because we were in a vulnerable position. Profit over care. I am willing to pay for care for my dogs but this was capitalism at its worst! Shame on you! In this impossible economy, taking advantage of your customers is low vibration.

I brought our dog in because she consumed some things that she shouldn't have. Our dog was wailing when we came in and my daughter was crying hysterically. I was asked to sign a paper stating that I give them permission to help her. They took her straight back and I signed the paper. I then began to try and calm my daughter down (who is 18) and wait on hold with poison control to get a case number. I paid $89 to have them give us a case number and tell the veterinarian what to do. The veterinarian was super nice and let us know what their recommendation was and that they would like to monitor her, but overall she would be ok. The vet assistant (Gwen) came in and told us it would be $1200, just for them to keep her overnight. She left the room as I discussed with my daughter what we would do. She came back, we told her that we would take her back home and watch her. That’s when she said we needed to pay $1,200 before we leave. I told her that my daughter was not able to pay this today and I wasn’t going to take on this responsibility. She then said verbatim, “you can’t leave without paying the $1,200”. I asked her if she was going to prevent me from leaving because it sounds like you’re keeping us hostage and I know my rights. She then said she had to talk with someone. She came back and asked if we had $25. I told her yes, and she stated that my daughter could get a payment plan (which was never offered before), but we were glad to set up for a total of $907. I also asked her what poison control told them, and she said she had talked with them and they gave their reaccommodation’s. She still would not tell me what they said. Our dog had calmed down on the ride home and slept peacefully through the night. In the morning she wasn’t whining, whaling or in distress. She ate her food, drank her water, used her pad and then climbed back in her bed. I left my home for work at 8:40am the following day and received a call from an animal control officer who was at my home at 8:48am, because the veterinarian’s office called them concerned. I contacted The Cove and Marie returned my call. I asked them if this was normal protocol and if they felt my dog was in danger they should have kept her. They had no problem taking her off the IV's and waking her from her sedation. She stated that it wasn't the nasty vet assistant but the receptionist that heard me talking to my daughter. She overheard a conversation that was taken out of context when I said "if she doesn't clam down, we'll have to drop her off"; meaning at someone who can take care of her while she's like this. This was a petty way to get back at us because we refused to pay at that moment and let her stay; from a disgruntled employee. In all of my years being on this earth and being a pet owner, I’ve never had animal control called. Our pets are loved and cared for. Just like children going to the ER, if you don’t need them to stay overnight at the ER you take them home, observe them, and come back if necessary. The Cove should be ashamed to have a nasty worker like that working for them.

I truly appreciate the COVE Staff for everything they did to help my dog when he got a fish hook stuck in his mouth. They fixed him up and he immediately bounced back to his happy self. They made him feel comfortable and they were very patient with him while he adjusted. Great team! They love what they do here!

Wish I came here when my cats problems started. Feel like I could have saved my Mojo. They knew exactly what was going on and told us the outcome. As for other er places we sat from 10-5. W no answers. The hardest part is having to tell someone, his time has come and they were so good about this. Thank you for the Dr and assistant on Fri May 15th 3pm
